Artist RFP: Bazaar After Dark Mural

Bazaar After Dark (a program of Pulse Young Professionals Network and the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce) is dedicated to revitalizing and drawing positive attention to underutilized business districts in the Fox Valley, while fostering community collaborations through art, music, and common experiences. Pulse Young Professionals Network is partnering with Habitat for Humanity to celebrate their ‘Rock the Block’ neighborhood builds in 2018. The public art component of the night market is a way of visually demonstrating our commitment to the renewal and growth of each neighborhood, in hopes that the community will join us in investing in its prosperity.


Artist eligibility

Any artist or small team of artists interested in creating a two dimensional mural, to be completed on Thursday July 19, 2018, may submit a proposal in accordance with the guidelines provided below.



  • Complete a ‘live’ public mural for an outdoor environment that reflects the spirit of S. Commercial Street in Neenah. Preparatory work can be done in advance, but finishing work will be done during the market as a live piece of performance art.
  • Engage the local artist community by encouraging proposals reflecting hopes and goals for their own neighborhoods.



The wall designated for this mural is located on the side of Pappa’s Cafe [1360 S. Commercial Street, Neenah]. The size of the mural is negotiable, depending on the artist’s vision of just a section of the wall – or the entire side of the building including window openings, etc. Please email nhessel@foxcitieschamber with questions.

Application requirements
  • A narrative and design illustrating your concept is required for each submission. Include supplemental information such as medium, sketches, and approximate dimensions of the proposed mural (adaptable).
  • Supporting materials including images of previous works are strongly encouraged.
  • There will be a minimum payment of $2,500 to the artist; dependent upon the necessary supplies, building cleaning/preparation, and other associated costs of the project.
  • The submission deadline is: Sunday, July 1, 2018
